SPECIAL DIETARY PRODUCT FOR PEOPLE WITH HYPERGLYCEMIA STUDY AND DETERMINE GLYCEMIC INDEX OF PRODUCT

Subjects and method: Clinical study is conducted on 30 people, compare the glycemic responses of people using product with ones using glucose then calculate the glycemic index (GI) of Vinamilk Diecerna.

According to the latest survey conducted by the National Hospital of Endocrinology in 2013, there is 5.7% of adults with diabetes in Vietnam. In addition, the increase rate of the disease is particularly high in modern cities, i.e.HCMC and Hanoi. This rate is also much higher than the average rate of developed countries and countries in the region.

With the desire to bring the best for public health, Vinamilk together with the National Institute for Nutrition successfully studiedspecial dietary product  which is designed with  optimal nutritional compositions according to the recommendation of  the American Diabetes Association for people with hyperglycemia.

Especially, the specialized sugars in the product help the blood sugar rise slowly after taking the product.

Vinamilk Diecerna for the diabetics is supplemented with DHA which is a vital substance for the heart and brain.

The figure shows the blood sugar levels after taking Vinamilk Diecerna and glucose. It shows that the blood sugar level after taking product increases more slowly than taking glucose and then reduces slowly. That is so significant for patients with diabetes as well as prediabetes because high blood sugar level will cause complications for the body organs, e.g. cardiovascular system, brain…

Base on the chart, the National Institute of Nutrition gave the glycemic index of Vinamilk Diecerna (powder) is 27.6. According to the classification of international glycemic index, Vinamilk Diecerna is a low glycerna food. Therefore, this product is safe and suitable for the diabetic and the prediabetic to use in the diet every day.

VINAMILK DIECERNA has so low glycemic index, so that this product can be used for the diabetic and patients with impaired glucose tolerance. Besides that, this product can be used for peole diet in order to prevent diseases, i.e. overweight, obesity, hyperlipaemia, cardiovascular diseases.
