JOB SUMMARY:

• Take full responsibility for developing strategies, planning, and overseeing the implementation of Energy, Environment, and Circular Economy initiatives across manufacturing operations, ensuring alignment with Vinamilk’s sustainability and production goals.

• Lead the implementation and maintenance of Energy – Environment – Occupational Health & Safety (EESH/EOSH) management systems, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and international standards (ISO 14001, ISO 50001, ISO 45001).

• Drive greenhouse gas (GHG) inventory, emissions reduction roadmap (Net Zero), and circular economy initiatives to optimize resource efficiency, minimize environmental impact, and support long-term sustainable development.

• Coordinate cross-functions and external stakeholders (government bodies, consultants, organizations) to ensure compliance, data transparency, and effective execution of sustainability programs.

 

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop short-term and long-term strategies for Energy Management, Environmental Management, and Circular Economy aligned with the company’s sustainability and production strategy.

• Establish annual plans including budget, resources, and key initiatives related to energy efficiency, environmental compliance, and circular economy programs.

• Lead the deployment and governance of EOSH management systems across manufacturing sites, ensuring effectiveness, compliance, and audit readiness.

• Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements related to environment, occupational safety, fire prevention, and related standards; oversee reporting to government authorities.

• Drive company-wide GHG inventory and reporting (ISO 14064-1), implement carbon reduction initiatives, and support Net Zero roadmap execution.

• Lead energy audits across factories, monitor energy consumption performance, and propose optimization solutions to improve operational efficiency.

• Develop and implement circular economy initiatives, including: – Resource efficiency optimization

– Waste reduction, recycling, and reuse programs

– Sustainable materials and packaging solutions

– Product lifecycle assessment (LCA)

• Monitor, analyze, and control key operational metrics including energy usage, environmental performance, labor norms, and production cost structures.

• Provide data-driven insights and recommendations to improve operational efficiency and sustainability performance.

• Coordinate with internal stakeholders (Manufacturing, R&D, Supply Chain, Marketing, etc.) to integrate sustainability and circular economy practices into business operations.

• Manage relationships with external stakeholders including regulatory bodies, consultants, and international organizations related to sustainability and environment.

• Build, lead, and develop the team, including capability building in sustainability, data analytics, and project management.

 

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION:

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Energy, Sustainability, Industrial Management, Materials Science, Chemistry, or related fields.

• Additional degree in Business Administration or Economics is a plus.

• Relevant certifications preferred: ISO 14001/50001 Lead Auditor, GHG Protocol, Carbon Accounting.

EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum 6 years of experience in energy, environmental management, industrial management, or sustainability within manufacturing environments (preferably FMCG/food production).

• At least 2 years in a managerial role or equivalent leadership position.

• Experience in implementing energy management systems, environmental compliance, and circular economy initiatives.

• Hands-on experience in data analysis, sustainability reporting, and factory operations is highly preferred.

SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, equipment, and waste treatment systems.

• Solid knowledge of circular economy models and sustainability frameworks.

• Knowledge of packaging materials and technologies in FMCG/food industry.

• Understanding of ISO systems (ISO 14001, 50001, 45001, FSSC).

• Strong project management and data analysis capabilities.

• Strategic thinking with ability to translate strategies into execution.

• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and negotiation skills.

• Leadership capability in team development and cross-functional collaboration.
