Director, Demand & Trade Promotion Planning
The Director of Demand & Trade Promotion Planning is responsible to deliver detailed item level consensus demand plan as part of the integrated business planning and integrated tactical planning processes. This role oversees development, consolidation, and synchronization of the demand signal across all product portfolios, geographies, channels, customers, and time horizons by leading and developing a high performing team of demand, sales, and trade planning professionals. As the primary voice of demand to the organization, you will play a key process leadership role within Vinamilk’s monthly Integrated Business Planning process, weekly Integrated Tactical Planning process, budgeting, and trade and promotion compliance process.

The Director is responsible for leading and designing initiatives, systems, workflows, and measures that drive improvement in overall demand plan accuracy, bias, value-add, as well trade and promotion compliance and optimization. To do so this leader will need to be an effective influencer and cross functional partner and must be a skilled collaborator that drives accountability with cross functional teammates.

1. Main Responsibilities

Lead Sales, Trade, and Promotion Planning:

• Oversee development of sales plans, manage reconciliation of sales plans, gaps, and countermeasures with business objectives to minimize channel conflicts and maximize trade effectiveness

• Partners with sales and product portfolio leadership for tactical demand management to support inventory strategy and customer service objectives

• Develop and support execution of plans to reduce and eliminate slow/non-moving inventory

• Manage and design customer demand planning process and tools critical to effective integrated business and tactical planning success in a predictable and repeatable manner

• Collaborate with and hold accountable sales partners to deliver accurate and timely customer volume, pricing, and trade spending forecasts by developing effective communication, KPI’s, metrics and by implementing performance reporting and performance management meetings

• Appropriately staff sales planning, demand planning, and trade compliance analysts that enhance the performance of sales, demand, trade input accuracy and drives adherence to trade promotion standards and guidelines

• Partner with IT to manage the utilization, maintenance, and optimization of trade planning and forecasting tools
Lead Consensus Demand Planning

• Responsible for development and management of unconstrained item level consensus demand plan, to include integration of statistically based sales forecasts with sales account and promotional plans

• Manages synchronization and integrations of demand plans across all time horizons including both the tactical (0-3 months), operational (3-36 months) and strategic (3+ years) horizons

• Represents the unconstrained demand signal to the rest of the organization by acting as process leader of the Demand Review as part of the Integrated Business Planning process

• Drive improvement of key performance indicators of demand signal health such as accuracy, bias, and forecast value-add through disciplined measurement and reporting across all input sources and levels of granularity required by the business

• Appropriately staff and develop a team of demand planning professionals focused on continuously improving demand signal health indicators

• Responsible for integration of product and customer lifecycle activities into unconstrained demand plan

• Partner with IT to manage the utilization, maintenance, and optimization of demand planning tools
Lead Center of Excellence for Trade Operations

• Key enabler of Trade Operations Center of Excellence – Lead activities across businesses to support trade process, policy, controls and compliance

• Operationalize and sustain Trade Promotion Management & Optimization technology and activities

• Lead process harmonization across businesses, drive continuous improvement and utilize metrics to identify areas of focus and opportunity

• Provide thought leadership to customer teams and cross functional partners on trade strategy and execution

• Develop and utilize analytics/reporting and identify trends to support current and future business needs/results focused on trade efficiencies and optimization, net revenue management and trade compliance

• Utilize analytics and trends across businesses to make recommendation

• Build competent and motivated team

2. Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree

• 15+ years of experience with demand generation

• Prior experience with statistical and analytical quantitative methods for forecasting demand and analyzing spend effectiveness

• Must have prior experience with Trade Promotion Optimization (TPO), Revenue Management (RM) and related Analytics, and Pricing/Price optimization practice and solutions

• Must have prior experience in functionally designing and building an SAP TPM-CBP solution and integration with ERP & Demand Planning. Brings experience of configuration for spend, promotion types & their impact on overall design

3. Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree

• Experience in a consumer company
